I don't really ship anyone (that's normal for me) but the Damon-Elena interaction is awesome - she never backs down for an instant, and he has to think about things he'd really rather avoid. I like that Stephan and Damon are not "good brother/evil brother", but they play those roles and know they're doing it. Bonnie's storyline is a great one, too, but I'm not sure where you're up to with that, and I don't want to spoil you.
