I have been absent far too long! But that's what happens when assignments come due and there is a local con to get to: I've been spending every spare moment writing or working, for the most part, with a quick visit to Faerie Escape Atlanta last weekend. It's another 10-hour shift at work today but, before I go, have a drabble I wrote for TrueBlood100's 19th challenge, "Instinct."

Title: Through Death, and What Pam Found There
Rating: PG-13.
Characters/Pairings: Pam/Eric.
Word Count: 120.
Spoilers: None, really, as this takes place about a century ago.
Disclaimer: Neither True Blood nor the Southern Vampire Mysteries are my sandboxes; I just like playing in them. All fun, no profit.
Summary: Pam seeks a Wonderland in the garden, and finds herself tripping through the rabbit hole into death and beyond.

I had to undergo four hours in the dentist's chair last Tuesday, which have left me rather sad in the mouth-department. Also much lighter in the pocket, ugh. It was all incredibly necessary work and involved a tooth extraction, so I've spent the week loving ice packs, soft foods, and vicodin. I also have major issues with my temporomandibular joint, which have no doubt complicated the recovery process.

I think this calls for distraction! So how about a drabble meme?

The first FIVE people to comment in this post get to request ~something~ of any pairing/character* of their choosing from me. In return, they have to post this in their journal.** If you absolutely can't write, you can offer drawings or icons or something instead (meta? picspams? reasons why that character/pairing rocks/doesn't rock?).

* Note the first: Below, you will find a list of fandoms in which I'm reasonably to well conversant.

** Note the second: I actually don't care if you post this in your journal; you don't have to. If you do, though, let me know where so I can come and request something of you!

Title: Disposal Procedures, Step 1: Appropriate Footwear
Rating: PGish for the barest suggested sexuality.
Characters/Pairings: Pam, Jessica; hint of Pam/Jessica.
Word Count: 107
Spoilers: Spoilers for 3.1 in that it references Jessica's plight covered in that episode; my drabble deviates from the established story, however.
Disclaimer: Neither True Blood nor the Southern Vampire Mysteries are my sandboxes; I just like playing in them. All fun, no profit.
Summary: Pam's vanity for shoes extends to encompass her associates.

Title: The Selective Mutism Trait [The Big Bang Theory]
Rating: G
Word count: 100
Origin: For Big Bang Land's "Anything Can Happen Thursday!" The requirements were that the drabble be exactly 100 words long and use one of a number of proscribed words: I chose Star Trek.
Disclaimer: The Big Bang Theory is not my sandbox; I just like playing in it. All fun, no profit.
Notes: Apparently this was good practice for me, because I had a devil of a time limiting myself to 100 words. It got a chuckle out of my husband: I hope it can do so with some of you. Originally posted here, re-posted at my journal for consolidation purposes.

And just for comparison's sake, here's the drabble when it was 150 words (i.e. pre-chainsaw):
